Having heard that Zach Galifianakis has announced there will be a Hangover 3, I'm of the view that Todd Phillips et al are trying to squeeze more juice out of this idea than there actually is.
I think some films should be left untouched, never to have a sequel and never to be remade. Before I saw the Hangover II I was excited and I thought it was the best idea ever. Now I have watched it and heard that there will be a 3rd installment, I think I've lost respect for all involved.
While I enjoyed the Wolfpack's 'Thighland' saga and laugh snorted numerous times, all that has happened is they have copied the Vegas plot and pasted it into a different country. I can't help but think the fast turnover from films 1 to 2 is due to flashing dollar signs in eyes. Now it's been revealed a 3rd is going to be made, I think my thoughts are correct; this concept makes a lot of money, so credibility is being thrown out of the window and sequels are being churned out to earn some easy cash.
The original Hangover is one of my all time favourite comedies, probably just behind Anchorman, Airplane! and Superbad so I think I will just pretend sequels haven't been made, block my ears and lalala!
As I've previously said, as a stand alone film, the Hangover II is pretty bloody funny and I didn't think Bradley Cooper could get any hotter but I wish Hollywood would stop messing with credible movies!
