When I heard about this film I was determined to see it on the release date. The trailer drew me in as soon as I saw it, and it obviously did countless others; myself and HOM (my friend Honoria, she will now be known as HOM) had to cinema hop to find a showing that wasn't sold out.
"What if a pill could make you rich and powerful?"
This fascinating concept draws attention immediately. I know from writing that you can often hit bumps in the road, 'writers block' as it were, is a frustrating situation to experience. But what if you could just take one tiny little pill to rid yourself of this never happening again? To be able to access and utilize 100% of your brain capacity and to be able to reach potential and goals you never thought achievable?
This film is visually beautiful and the Italian Stallion that is Bradley Cooper is stylish and charismatic in his leading role. Robert De Niro is, as always, in control and brilliant in his supporting role.
Although the script is somewhat uneven, the fast paced nature and the engrossing concept captivate the mind for the duratation of the film. I don't think 'Limitless' quite fulfills it's potential as an amazing action thriller but I think it comes pretty damn close.
I would definitely recommend this film, not only to drool at the Coop but to witness this impressively executed version of a far fetched idea.
