Drawing a Proverbial Line...

Hi!

Many of you who read this blog on a regular basis last year are friends on Facebook and followers on Twitter. Therefore I've explained to you that I have a new blog! But for those of you that aren't aware - here is the link to my new blog - http://emmyelizabeth.wordpress.com/

There may even be a review or two pop up every now and then! Next article is a lifestyle number on the top 5 cafe's in Downham Market and the surrounding area :)

An Explanation...

Ok, so, I'm finally admitting why I haven't posted anything in soooo long with a little nudge from an old friend :)

I've been offered a place to study a Masters in Broadcast Journalism starting in September and being the geek I am, I already have textbooks.

So I figure, if I'm blogging, I'm not studying (serious guilt complex!) so I've been taking a blog break and will hopefully be back soon to annoy you some more once I have something interesting to say/have seen some more films.

2012 Oscars Nominees/Predictions

Today I spent my afternoon with two lovely ladies, lunching in the O2 and seeing some Denzel and Ryan action at the Sky Superscreen. We spent a good amount of time chatting about how disappointing it is that we can't watch the Academy Awards this evening and about who we think will win that gorge golden statue. Off the back of my luscious afternoon here are the nominees and my predictions...

BEST PICTURE

The Artist - There's ridiculous amounts of love for The Artist and I would put money on this outcome.
The Descendant
Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close
The Help
Hugo
Midnight in Paris
Moneyball
The Tree of Life
War Horse

ACTOR IN A LEADING ROLE

Demián Bichir in "A Better Life"
George Clooney in "The Descendants"- genuinely can't decide between these two guys, anyone in this
Jean Dujardin in "The Artist" category could genuinely win here.
Gary Oldman in "Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy"
Brad Pitt in "Moneyball"

ACTOR IN A SUPPORTING ROLE

Kenneth Branagh in "My Week with Marilyn"
Jonah Hill in "Moneyball"
Nick Nolte in "Warrior"
Christopher Plummer in "Beginners" - smart money is on Christopher Plummer but I would love Nick Nolte to take home the glory.
Max von Sydow in "Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close"

ACTRESS IN A LEADING ROLE

Glenn Close in "Albert Nobbs"
Viola Davis in "The Help"
Rooney Mara in "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo"
Meryl Streep in "The Iron Lady" - This is the one I want it to be and the one I think it should be but Viola Davis is really being shouted about at the moment.
Michelle Williams in "My Week with Marilyn"

ACTRESS IN A SUPPORTING ROLE

Bérénice Bejo in "The Artist"
Jessica Chastain in "The Help"
Melissa McCarthy in "Bridesmaids"
Janet McTeer in "Albert Nobbs"
Octavia Spencer in "The Help"- Complete shoo-in in my opinion, if she doesn't win it will be a massive shock.

BAFTAs 2012

Firstly I'd like to apologise for my distinct lack of bloggage commitment. I've been piss poor, I know.

So I've decided to attempt to redeem myself with live updates from the one and only British Academy Film Awards on Sunday!

The Red Carpet Show starts at 7.30pm on BBC3 and the actual Awards Ceremony starts on BBC1 at 9.00pm.

I'll be commenting on everything from fashion, odd acceptance speeches and behavior to who and what won what so if you fancy it I'm here :)

Adios Amigos!
